Oh man I can't get enough of these tall shapes this year - this bottle vase is the result of an afternoon seeing how skinny I could get the neck of a pot without it completely closing. I turned a little rim into the neck of it to balance out the form, and threw a nice shoulder on it so that the glaze had a nice angle to break over.
Thrown from gently-speckled stoneware clay, this bottle vase would make a lovely Christmas gift for someone. With a tiny neck it's perfect for a single flower stem of dried or fresh flowers. It's fully glazed on the inside so it's completely waterproof, and the form showcases the sea foam glaze at its best: spanning the whole colour wheel from turquoise to churny white to shinier sections where it's thinner. A real joy to make and I hope a joy to have in your home too.
